Gries-Bolzano (260 meters a.s.l.)

Alluvial soils deposited by the River Talvera, with alternating sandy and gravelly layers to a depth of up to 10 meters. Porphyry is predominant.

The soils are very rich and well supplied with water. The area also benefits from the warmth of the Bolzano basin, with the heat of hot summer days mitigated by a cooling wind from Val Sarentino.
