Appiano Monte (480-615 meters a.s.l.)
Clayey calcareous gravel soils at the foot of the Mendola massif with a predominance of dolomite and greatly varying iron content (red clay). The soils are very deep and have a continuous water supply.
The sites also benefit from a distinctive climate:
- East-facing slopes for moderate temperatures
- Shading effects provided by the nearby Mendola ridge
- Strong cooling fall winds after sunset
Appiano Monte is home to our Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, some Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.
